Hi, this maybe more of a Maya question, but I'm hoping to find some help here. I'm trying to submit a multiple frame render via submit-maya.pl, and the command ultimately comes through to the farm as:

mayabatch -render -verbose 1 -proj //locutus/users/lpetre/scenes/test/ -s 26 -e 30 -b 1 -n 1 //locutus/users/lpetre/scenes/test/spin.mb

Which unfortunately seems to disregard the -s and -e options, and tries to render all the frames in the .mb file.

Hi Luke,

Can you send the complete frame log for the frame that rendered
that? I'd like to see the whole log.

It sort of sounds like the problem described in this thread:
	http://seriss.com/cgi-bin/rush/newsgroup-threaded.cgi?-view+1022+1022+1023

..and I'd recommend applying this fix if that's the case:
	http://seriss.com/cgi-bin/rush/newsgroup-threaded.cgi?-view+1023+1022+1023

	..however, I think that's only with Maya7 + Mental Ray, and you're
using maya 6.5 with maya's software renderer (based on the above
command line), so I'm not aware of the-s/-e being ignored in
	maya software rendering.

Looking at the complete log, I can probably tell more info.

If I run this command line instead:
render -s 26 -e 30 -b 1 -n 1 //locutus/users/lpetre/scenes/test/spin.mb

Try the submit-maya6 script instead, eg:
	//yourserver/jobs/rushscripts/submit-maya6.pl

..that will use the newer 'Render -r [sw|mr|mi] ..' approach to
	run Maya's renderer.

The script is called 'submit-maya6' because that syntax for the renderer
was introduced in maya6, and appears to be the better way to run the
	Maya renderer now.

The older 'submit-maya' script uses the old 'mayabatch' way to run the renderer.
