Hi All on the Rush newsgroup,

Just a heads up the official Rush 102.42a8 is about to be released.
The code is now frozen.. doing some final tests before the release.

Some of you have the alpha4 release which has been very stable..
The final a8 release has a few more niceties.. I've posted a revised
"release notes" page for 102.42a8 here:
	http://www.seriss.com/rush-current/rush/release-notes.html

Some new features since the a8-alpha went out to alpha testers:

o New irush 'search filter' is now automatically applied when a report is refreshed.
(In the previous alpha versions, you had to hit 'Enter' to make the filter take
effect when a report was refreshed)

o All submit scripts now have a new 'Edit -> Preferences -> Use native filechooser'
flag that turns on the local OS's own file chooser. eg:
              http://seriss.com/rush-current/features/rush-102.42.html#NativeFileChooser

o submit-maya now has an optional prompt for the Project: directory.
              (FILMROMAN/RAINMAKER/NICKELODEON)

o submit-maya has new -field options, to allow external programs to pre-set
prompts in the submit form to new values. (Useful for you MEL scripters who
want to pass the frame range and scene filename to preset the GUI submit form)

o All the program's help screens now have selectable text, so you can paste
directly from the help examples. (This was an update to the underlying GUI
              FLTK toolkit)

o Added a new 'mi-gen' option to submit-maya, so that you can just generate
just the MI files (either incremental, or one-file-per-frame MI files) without
              doing any rendering. (RAINMAKER)

o Added maya 8.5 and 8.0 example variable settings.

o Added new 'submit-pix2vec' for vectorization rendering of ToonBoom's
Harmony software, so that 2D scanners can easily scan jobs directly
              through Rush. (FILMROMAN)

            o Linux install script now creates /etc/profile.d/rush-render-queue.{csh,sh}
files, instead of directly hacking /etc/profile and /etc/csh.{cshrc,login}.
(This is so that OS updates that affect the latter files don't affect rush
              from starting on boot) (FROEHLIG/FLOQFX)

o Fixed problem where some windows machines would not show up in rushtop
              because of the error:
PdhValidatePath('\Memory\Pages Input/sec'): The specified object is not found on the system
              (SETH/PROLOGUE FILMS)
