	Check the /var/log/system.log and /Library/Logs/CrashReporter
	to see if there are scary errors about other core processes
	faulting out.

	Might be a hardware error such as a dying fan, dust, heat,
	or bad memory as you say.

	If you're quite sure it's not hardware, do follow up here.
