It's possible the write location issue is caused by a few lines in our pre-render MEL that were intended to prevent precisely this issue in a previous Maya release. I've commented them out and will run some tests.

I see, so it sounds like it only fails on macs but works on linux?
Hmm.. that does sound kinda bug-ish.

Still, might want to check the prerender mel.

Might also want to check if there's a version difference of the vray plugin
	on the macs vs. linux.

Also, this message seems worth looking into:

> Warning: file: /var/tmp/.RUSH_TMP.2123/ASTMP.522042UNgik.mel line 19:
> The flag "-renderType" is obsolete and has been replaced by the "-fileRule" flag. Please use the new flag.

I know the rush submit script isn't creating that mel script in
the rush tmp dir, so perhaps the -prerender mel code is?

If so, the above error might be caused by that mel code.. kinda sounds
like the custom mel code there is perhaps invoking the vray plugin with
an old flag it no longer likes..?

I see what you mean by the -rd flag being ignored:

Those paths aren't anything like the -rd flag, which is set to:

/Casino/Poker/Shows/tst/tstCOMMON/tstDEV/lgt/maya/dbrowne/tstDEV_vray2013_test/images

..and project path is set to:

/Casino/Poker/Shows/tst/tstCOMMON/tstDEV/lgt/maya/dbrowne/tstDEV_vray2013_test

	..but it's writing to a /totally/ different drive (/EEP/Home).

If it's not getting that from the scene file, it might be getting it from
the user's home directory (eg. the 'maya' subdir)

I assume if you grep the .ma file for "/EEP/Home", it's not showing up?
