The scripts that generated these images are included below; the scripts were run on a Mac, which tells the Mac "DVD Player" to advance through the frames, grabbing a sample from each image, then does the re-stitching with ImageMagick. I'm working here with regular DVDs, but using the full digital res of the DVD, instead of the analog NTSC rescanning, so the quality and res are quite a bit better.
The 'venitian blind' artifact seen here is due to how the original footage was re-shot through a diffusion filter creating a glow around the graphics. This glow doesn't go through the unwarping process well, and therefore creates this distracting artifact I'm not happy with. Not sure if there's a way to solve this without lowering the image quality; it's hard to 'undo' a glow.
