Previous Features: 102.40 Feature List
Irush Job Edit New Features
New features were added to rush in 102.40, so these features are also
accessable from irush.
Irush Improved Sorting
Sorting can now be done in ascending or descending order; the sort buttons
are 'tri-state' now, meaning click once to get ascending, click again to
get descending, and again to disable sorting. This 'cycles' through sorting
similar to how mail programs sort by date/subject by clicking on the sort
button several times.
Irush Job Edit: 'View Cpus' Pop Up
Another feature is in 'Job Edit', irush now lets you easily view available cpus, so you can
cut-and-paste hostnames and hostgroups easily:
Rushtop Graph Resizing
RUSHTOP now resizes the graph to fit in the window, allowing you to still
see process graphs in very small windows.
Www-Rush Improved Look
WWW-RUSH has gotten a facelift to support the multitude of browser and OS
combinations that are out there now. Included are nicer looking buttons,
and consistent monospaced fonts in the browser selection windows.
1) Fixed width fonts in all browsers (Netscape 4.x + 6.x, Explorer, Mozilla 1.0)
2) Buttons are aligned nicely in all browsers.
(Note: older Netscape 4.x won't look as nice; doesn't support style sheets well)
Also, various bugs have been fixed, including:
- Fixed problem which prevented 'Tasklist' button in upper right corner from
working correctly.
- Fixed 'Job-Edit' problem which prevented users from changing LogDir,
ImgCommand and Command fields.
- www-rush: added help documentation for "Cpu Controls" (it was missing)
Icons For Windows Desktop
All the rush GUIs have icons now, so when you make shortcuts,
these icons appear automatically on your desktop.
Improved Process Killing Under Windows 2000
For a long time, Windows had no way to control renders that spawned multiple
processes, something that Unix has had for decades.
RUSH on Windows 2000 uses Job Objects to kill processes when jobs are dumped
or frames are requeued, to make sure processes aren't left behind.
Some customers had noticed in previous releases of rush that on Windows
machines, sometimes renders like 'mayabatach' would be left behind after a
job was dumped. These could sometimes build up, showing the following undesireable
'leftover render process' showing up in the task manager:
The new use of Job Objects in 102.31p should prevent this completely.
